You can check-in by calling the above number. The attendant will come to meet you to show you the camping and facilities. It’s better to check-in during daylight hours so as not to disturb the other customers.
Check-out
You can check-out by calling the attendant who will meet you at your accommodation. If you wish to leave before 09:00, please check-out the previous afternoon to avoid delay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I drink the water from the taps?
Yes, the water in the kitchen and bathrooms is drinkable as is the water from the taps at either end of the main bathroom if you need to fill up your water before leaving.
Is there somewhere to empty my chemical toilet?
Yes, there is a place to empty your cassette toilet behind the last outdoor shower on the right next to the main bathroom block. There is a tap nearby to rinse out the cassette. There is no designated location to empty vehicle-mounted grey water tanks at this time.
Is there WiFi at the camping?
There is WiFi coverage over most of the camping. The SSID is Grammeno Camping and no password is required. There may be reduced coverage inside your vehicle or accommodation.
Is there a washing machine?
A washing machine is located in the laundry room situated in the main bathroom block. Please contact the attendant if you need to use the machine. The cost is 6€ for a 15kg wash load if you bring your own washing product. There is no drier as there is usually plenty of sunshine and wind. The cost will be added to your bill.
Call +30 698 836 4709 to check if the machine is available and to make an appointment to have your laundry washed. The first wash of the day is usually around 09:00 and the last 16:00. It’s also possible to have your laundry washed overnight as the machine has a timer. You need to ask if this is possible. Your laundry will be left outside the laundry room door once it’s ready or it can be brought to your accommodation in the camping.
Can I have items delivered to the camping?
The Greek postal service ELTA deliver letters and small packages to the camping once or twice each week. There are also courier services through the usual carriers (GLS, UPS, DHL etc). The location is considered to be difficult to access so deliveries may take longer than normal. Consignments will often be passed to a local delivery company for the ‘last mile’. This should be factored in. The official address of the camping is in the contact us section. Please note that it is unlikely the courier company will call to make delivery arrangements unless you give a Greek mobile number. You may give the number on the contact page if you wish.
Where can I put my recycled items?
The municipality is a little lax on recycling. Even though there are separate blue, recycling roadside containers, these are collected and merged with the other rubbish. However, a private company collects glass via yellow spherical containers dotted around in car parks in and around Paleochora. There is a glass recycling box close to the kitchen. A yellow glass recycling container is present in the beach car park close to the camping. If you’d be kind enough to ensure your recycling has been rinsed this would be appreciated.
Can I bring my dog/cat to the camping?
The camping is animal-friendly and caters for a selection of homeless or rescued animals. Please be sure that your dog is on a leash and to pick up whilst inside the camping; not everyone likes dogs perhaps as much as you. The Promontory, to the left across the beach as you walk out through the sliding gates onto the beach, makes an excellent location to walk your dog.
What time does the entrance gate close?
The entrance gate is not locked even though there is a padlock preventing the bar from rising. You may come and go as you please. Be very careful when operating the barrier as the arm is not damped. The arm should be held firmly until in the near-vertical position. If you’re unsure, please ask for assistance.
Can I get a meal out or delivered to the camping?
The nearest restaurants to the camping usually close at the end of October. The nearest restaurants in winter are in Paleochora. Only a few remain open but still provide a good choice. Some have a take out service or will deliver to the camping. All is not lost if it’s not possible for you to get into town. A quick search on Google will point you in the right direction.
Can I use the washing machine even if I’m not staying at the camping?
Yes, you can, it’s available to you even if you’re not a customer at the camping. Please prepare your laundry, not forgetting to include your preferred washing product too.
